Yarn Swap Success
Wow! We just held a Yarn Swap at the VI Regional Library Sooke with Zero Waste Sooke. O WOW! there were ever so many donations of good yarn to be shared. There were knitting needles and crochet hooks galore, and a table for patterns. The patterns got pushed to one side because a volunteer showed up with her winder. She cheerfully wound a few balls of yarn for people, and helped a lady who wanted to know where to get a winder for her daughter.
Other volunteers sorted yarn onto tables and helped people find a bag or a box. We had about a hundred people at our event, some old friends and some who had never been to the library before!
Our series of swaps is supported by Transition Sooke and the District of Sooke. Many thanks also to the library staff who not only set up the room for us, they accepted donations all week. Even the local yarn store, Sooke Yarn & Fibre https://www.facebook.com/sookeyarnandfibre/ accepted a big tote bin full of yarn for us!
